Lapping Machines

After sawing the core to size, the final smooth finish on the ends of the specimen to 0.002 mm is achieved by lapping. The equipment comprises a revolving brass table, over which rings with clamps are positioned to keep the face of the specimen perpendicular to that of the table. Action of the table causes the specimen to rotate during lapping operation. Controlled abrasive material and lubricator are fed to the centre of the table.

Machines are available in two models for cores of diameter of ‘EX’ to ‘NX’ size.
